Rosary English School Malvan

Rosary English School is a Christian Minority English Medium school and is administered by the Sindhudurg Diocesan Educational Trust. It was founded in the year 1995 by late Rev. Fr. Gabriel D’Silva. The foundation in the stone for the building was blessed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Walter Mixa, Bishop of Eichsatt, Germany, on 13th November 1997. Later, the buildingwas inaugurated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Valerian D’Souza, Bishop of Pune, on 25th July 2003.

 

Rosary English School is an English medium and co-education school. Its motto is ‘Unity is Strength’. It aims at an overall development of a person-academic,  physical, moral, emotional, psychological and spiritual of all, irrespective of caste or creed.


At present, Rosary English School is owned and managed by the Sindhudurg Diocesan Educational Trust (SDET), Kankavli with his Lordship Rev. Bishop Alwyn Barretto, the Bishop of Sindhudurg as its Chairman. For almost 14 years it was managed by the Poona Diocesan Educational Society (PDES). This School does not receive any aid from the government, however, it is recognized by the Govt. of Maharashtra. It prepares pupils, primarily, for Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Examination of the State of Maharashtra.

 

In 1998 the Society of the Sacred Heart Sisters was given the responsibility of the administration of the school for a period of ten years (1998-2008). After that the School is taken over by the Diocese of Sindhudurg.

 

The School has reached to great height by overcoming all the trials and difficulties that have cropped up on its journey.

 

The School will always strive to give a quality education to all the students. Although it is Christian minority school, we do not discriminate any child on the basis of caste or creed. The Sindhudurg Diocesan Educational Trust (SDET) is proud to serve the nation through this School by inculcating good values in the students.
