Rosary English school was founded in the year 1995 by late Rev. Fr. Gabriel D’silva. The foundation stone was blessed by Rt. Rev. Dr. Walter Mixa, Bishop of Eichsatt, Germany, on 13th November 1997. Later, the building was inaugrated by Rt. Rev. Dr. Valerian D’Souza, Bishop of Pune, on 25th July 2003.

Rosary English School is an English medium and co-education school. Its motto is ‘Unity is Strength’. It aims at an overall development of a person-academic, physical, moral, emotional, psychological and spirital of all, irrespective of caste or creed. At present, Rosary English School is owned and managed by the Sindhudurg Diocesan Educational Trust (SDET), Kankavli with his Lordship Rev. Bishop Alwyn Barretto, the Bishop of Sindhudurg as its Chairman. For almost 14 years it was managed by the Poona Diocesan Educational Society (PDES).
